Introduction to the 6th China Quality Conference

As a biennial international conference hosted by the Chinese government, China Quality Conference aims to share the latest trends and concepts in international quality development. It serves as a platform for exchanging quality management practices, fostering closer international cooperation on quality, and promoting quality reform and innovation. By enhancing the connectivity of quality infrastructure, the conference seeks to boost global economic development and shape a better future for all humanity.

Since 2014, the conference has been successfully held for five sessions in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chengdu, respectively. President Xi Jinping sent congratulatory letters to the second and fourth conferences in person, and Mr. Li Keqiang, the former Premier of the State Council, attended and addressed the first conference. Participants include government leaders, heads of international organizations, diplomatic envoys, officials from quality-related government departments, experts and scholars, and prominent entrepreneurs. Over five sessions, the conference has evolved into a significant, international and efficient platform for global quality exchange, featuring an improved organizational structure, more forward-thinking, rich in pragmatic content and greater international influence.

The 6th China Quality Conference, i.e. China Quality (Nanjing) Conference, will be held in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province, from September 16 to 17, 2025. Senior officials from the Chinese government will attend and deliver speeches. With the theme “Quality: Empowering New Quality Productive Forces”, the conference will be jointly hosted by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Nanjing Municipal People's Government. 

The conference consists of: plenary session, four themed sessions, two special activities, closing ceremony. The conference will be primarily held in person. 

Jiangsu is a province in eastern China, serving as a strategic link and two-way open hub supporting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It is known as the “land of fish and rice”. Its capital, Nanjing, has a history of nearly 2,500 years and is renowned as “An Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties” and “A Metropolis of Ten Dynasties”. As a key central city in eastern China, Nanjing is one of the first national historical and cultural cities and ranks among the top tourist attractions in China. In recent years, Nanjing has been awarded the titles of “Demonstration City for High Quality” and “One of China’s Happiest City”.
